“They do it all the time,” she said. “It’s on purpose.”

Harris announced her run for the White House on Sunday, almost immediately after Biden withdrew from the race and released an endorsement for his vice president.

“I have heard from within Republican circles and the right-wing media that the hate campaign against Kamala Harris has begun,” Brzezinski said.

The left-wing talk show host has made her loyalty to Biden clear.

She has repeatedly acknowledged her long, close relationship with the Biden family on “Morning Joe” and staunchly defended Biden’s re-election bid — even as many other left-leaning outlets reeled from his disastrous debate performance last night. .

“Well, obviously, on many levels, I’m really sad,” Brzezinski said Monday. “Joe Biden is a patriot. I love him, his family and I love what he has done for the country. He had authenticity and touch.”

She said “everything” about Biden was part of his “empathetic touch, very loving, very clear-eyed,” even his “stuttering and teasing” — though she said those traits backfired on him. after the debate.

On the Monday after the infamous Trump-Biden debate, Brzezinski opened “Morning Joe” with a 15-minute monologue in defense of the sitting president.

“I still believe in Joe Biden,” Brzezinski said during the post-debate show. “I’ve learned that counting him out is always a mistake, and doing so now could be disastrous for our country.”

Her speech was echoed by many other news personalities — including CNN panelists immediately after the debate — who called for a new Democratic nominee and criticized Biden’s lackluster performance.

But Brzezinski said Biden “would say, ‘There’s no time to complain about this.’

“Let’s continue. It’s time to go. Democrats really have a moment of momentum here, and my hope is that they seize it and run with it,” Brzezinski said Monday, shifting gears and endorsing Harris. “Be united. Get organized. Be coordinated. No more infighting.”

The “Morning Joe” host called for unity and broad support for Harris.

“My hope is that mainstream Democrats and mainstream Republicans, from Obama to the Bush family to military leaders, get behind the democracy ticket and we move forward,” Brzezinski said.

And some leaders have given Harris almost immediate support. Both Bill and Hillary Clinton wasted little time endorsing the vice president.

“We are honored to join the President in endorsing Vice President Harris, and we will do everything we can to support him,” they said in a joint statement Sunday.

Meanwhile, former President Barack Obama has withheld his support, instead issuing a statement that he is confident the Democratic Party will select an “outstanding candidate.”

Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) both appear to favor an “open” process to replace Biden and find a new House nominee.

“We will be navigating uncharted waters in the coming days,” Obama said.

Meanwhile, Harris is polling the same as, or slightly better than, Biden against Trump, according to the latest national NBC News poll — fueling fears that the vice president may not give Democrats a better shot at the White House.
